The Oyo State Chapter of the National Union of Local Government Employees,NULGE State has elected a set of new EXCOS amidst court injuction.

The election which was reported to have taken place at night produced a new set of Leaders in the Union despite the decision of the Court as ruled by Justice N.C Ogbuanya.

Justice Ogbuanya had earlier ruled at the National Industrial Court sitting in Lagos that the conduct of Congress and election by the association are refrained for the time being.

The election of the new executive, which was held overnight, was in total disregard to a court injunction that the conduct of the election should be put on hold.

The restraining order against the conduct of the congress and election of the association was issued by Justice N. C. S. Ogbuanya at a sitting of the National Industrial Court in Lagos .

The injuction was done in favour of the Case filed by Comrade Ojo Oyewo over his “unexplained and unlawful exclusion” as a candidate vying for the post of the President. The injuction remains valid pending the time to decide the case.

The Election which was concluded few minutes before 6 am was said to have produced Com Ayobamu Adeogun as the President.

Speaking immediately at the Election, Adeogun vowed to uphold the legacy of his predecessors and likewise promise to fail the Union hat he would not let the gait of the association done

His Statement read “My fellow Comrades, Oyo NULGE has decided today so we have been elected into our various offices as far as Oyo local government employee is concerned.

“Another history begins today, so we are giving this… We are representing the total number of 10,838 people in Oyo State.

“As we start today, we pray that we finish well. We pray that we follow the footprints of our fathers and we shall not disappoint you,” the President-elect said in a recorded video.
