The Oyo South Senatorial District Senator-elect, Akogun Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli has called on Christians in Nigeria to use the occasion of the Easter celebrations to pray fervently for the Country to overcome the current socio-economic challenges facing the Nation.

Alli, in a signed statement on Thursday, urged the Christians to pray for peaceful co-existence of all ethnic nationalities and mending of various cleavages exposed during the last election in the Country.

In the statement, the Senator-elect assured Nigerians that the Country would soon experience rapid economic growth and unprecedented development which is the hallmark of good governance.

The Senator-elect also urged Nigerians to emulate Jesus Christ who offered himself as a “living sacrifice” to atone for our sins by working in harmony, regardless of their creed, religion and political affiliations.

According to him, it is only in the atmosphere of love, togetherness and renewed commitment that Nigeria’s unity could be sustained.

Alli congratulated Christians on the completion of the 40-day lent-period, urging them not to relent on their prayers for continued peace and progress of Nigeria.

The former Secretary to Oyo State government commended Christians, Muslims and other religious adherents for their peaceful co-existence, appealing to them to pray for our leaders so that the Country could witness rapid growth and economic prosperity.
