The Soun of Ogbomoso in Oyo State, Oba Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye, has officially established a 36-member committee for his upcoming coronation ceremony. The committee, known as the Central Coronation Planning Committee (CCPC), comprises esteemed individuals from the ancient city. Led by Prof Adeshola Adepoju, the committee was inaugurated on Friday via a Zoom meeting.

The coronation of the new monarch is scheduled to take place in December. Notable leaders within the 36-member committee include AVM (Rtd) Bolaji Adigun as the co-chairman, and Rear Admiral (rtd) Jacob Ajani as the secretary-general.

During his welcome address, Adepoju urged committee members to unite their efforts to ensure a successful coronation. He also called upon the indigenes of Ogbomoso to support the new traditional ruler in fostering development within the community.

“We are committed to setting standards that will be emulated throughout the South West region. The progress of Ogbomoso is our collective responsibility, and we must all collaborate with His Imperial Majesty,” Adepoju stated. “Let us work together harmoniously, avoiding conflicts that may hinder our progress.”

It is worth noting that the monarch was officially installed by the kingmakers last month.
