The Unity Forum of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Oyo State has decribed as a fraud the statement by those it described as Otunba Akala/SENACO/PDP group that a steering committee was set up at the peace meeting held in Ibadan today.
Recall that Akéde Ọ̀yọ́ report that the leadership of the APC met at the Idi-Isin, Ibadan residence of Ekiti Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, today.
The meeting was a follow-up to the Abuja meeting convened by the national leadership of the party.
OYOINSIGHT.COM report that In an interview with former communications minister, Barr. Adebayo Shittu and Senator Adesoji Akanbi, who spoke on behalf of the leaders of the group, said the purported steering committee did not conform with the peace terms reached in Abuja.
Reports have it that at the Abuja meeting, it was resolved that each group will nominate three members each to superintend the activities of the APC in the state.
“The so-called elders steering committee is therefore a creation of Otunba Adebayo Akala/SENACO faction who defied the directive to bring 15 members to the meeting by flooding it with about 50 men to take decisions on their so-called steering committee. It is an unfortunate extension of the PDP culture into the APC and it will not work. They are starting another scenario that led the party to the fiasco in Edo State today,” they said.
