New Year celebration came early for persons with disabilities in Oyo State as Governor Seyi Makinde distributed food items to members of the association.
Speaking while the exercise was ongoing on Wednesday and Thursday, the Director-General, Agency for Persons With Disabilities, Barrister Ayodele Adekanbi charged the beneficiaries to receive what they were given with joy, saying that 2023 was a tough year but God came through at the last minute through the God Sent leader, Governor Seyi Makinde.
He stated that the annual exercise is an avenue to reach out to the needy and give them a sense of belonging as the new year approaches.
The Director-General appreciated God and Oyo State Governor who has made it duty bound to prioritize the welfare of the Persons with disabilities since 2019.
Adekanbi noted that it takes a leader with a heart of gold to remember the needy especially in this hard times, adding that Seyi Makinde has wiped several tears and mended broken hearts through welfarist policy.
The items distributed were rice and noodles among others. Beneficiaries were selected in all the 33 local governments.
