The Oyo State Police Command, give reasons for the release of three members of the Odua People’s Congress (OPC) on Tuesday in the State.
In an earlier report, AKÉDE OYO explain how the three members of the OPC who were arrested on Sunday after an arrest they carried out on a fulani warlord Iskilu Wakili were released by the Oyo Police AKÉDE OYO gathered that the OPC Members were arrested after they handover Iskilu Wakili a fulani warlord alledge to have been perpetrating various degrees of evil on Residents of Ibarapa land, to the police.
Wakili who has been accused of masterminding Various degrees of wanton Killings, Kidnappings, rapping cases in the Ibarapa geo-political zone of Oyo State.
Recall that AKÉDE OYO had reported how the zone had witness series of Security breaches due to a notorious activities of some suspected fulanj herdsmen, who were fingered to be behind the spate of Terrorizing innocent Oyo State citizens over the last couple of months.
Names like Dr. Fatai Aborode, Alhaja Sherifat Adisa, were on the news in the last few months after they were gruesomely killed by suspected Gunmen.
In the early hours of Tuesday an unconfirmed information surfaced in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, that the three members of OPC who mastermind the arrest of Wakili had been transferred to Abuja for further investigations, though the Oyo State Police Command through it’s Spokesperson Olugbenga Fadeyi insisted that the three members are still in Ibadan.
“He said the OPC Members are still at the Criminal Investigation Department, Iyaganku in Ibadan”.
After much pressure from the Oyo State Government and the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland Iba Gani Adams the three OPC Members were later released on bail yesterday.
Mr Olugbenga Fadeyi, the Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer who confirmed the release of the OPC Members on Tuesday night, also said that the trio were released on health grounds.
He was quoted as Saying;
He said, “They have been released due to their health status.”
