The stage is set for another landmark achievement in infrastructural renewal as the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, will officially commission the newly constructed Modern Shops and Motor Park at Bodija Market, Ibadan.

The commissioning ceremony, organized by the Ibadan North Local Government, marks a significant milestone in the ongoing transformation drive of the present administration aimed at repositioning markets and commercial hubs for greater efficiency, safety, and economic prosperity.

The project, executed under the leadership of the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, stands as a testament to purposeful governance and people-oriented leadership.

The once underdeveloped and partially dilapidated structures at the market have now given way to a well-structured, modern commercial environment designed to enhance trading activities and improve transportation coordination within the market axis.

Bodija Market, one of the most prominent commercial centres in Ibadan, has now been equipped with modern shops and a properly organized motor park to ease congestion, promote orderliness, and provide a safer environment for traders, buyers, and transport operators.

Speaking ahead of the event, Hon. Olufade described Governor Makinde as a visionary and a true problem solver whose administration continues to prioritize the welfare of the people.

He noted that the transformation of the Bodija Market infrastructure aligns with the Governor’s broader agenda of sustainable development and grassroots impact.

“This project is a reflection of our commitment to bringing development closer to our people.

We are grateful to His Excellency for consistently demonstrating that governance is about service, impact, and legacy,” Olufade stated.

The before-and-after transformation of the market vividly showcases the commitment of the local government to infrastructural advancement.

What was once an unstructured space has been converted into a modern facility that meets contemporary standards.

The commissioning ceremony, scheduled to take place beside Wema Bank, Bodija Market, Ibadan, is expected to attract top government functionaries, party leaders, market stakeholders, community leaders, and residents who are eager to witness another stride in Oyo State’s development journey.

With this milestone, Ibadan North Local Government further cements its reputation as a progressive council committed to delivering tangible dividends of democracy to its people.
