In Ibadan Army Begins Shooting Exercise , Urges Residents Not To Panic

Residents around Nigerian Army, 2 Division Headquarters, Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment Ojoo Ibadan, have been told not to panic when they hear gunshots as of Monday.

accordance with the Nigerian Army Forecast of Events 2022, the 2022 Annual Range Classification Exercise will be held at the Major General OF Akintayo Shooting Range, according to a statement signed by Lieutenant Colonel Charles Ekeocha, acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations

According to the statement, shooting will be a part of the annual range classification exercise, which is scheduled for August 1st to 5th 2022; as a result, people should go about their regular lives without harboring any fears.

The statement says the exercise aims to improve already taught practical gun handling courses, evaluate marksmanship abilities, and test and review troop weapon handling ability.

The notification goes on to say that the residents of the Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment in Ibadan are therefore warned not to flee if they hear gunfire during that time.

Most importantly, the notification continues, farmers in the area should stay away from the Range Area throughout the shooting practice.
