Munta Abimbola’s Retirement: Iyabo Yerima, Late Akinloye’s Daughter To Be Announced Acting Oyo CJ

Iyabode Subulade Yerima, daughter of late Adisa Akinloye, will become the next acting Chief Justice of Oyo State all things being equal.

Not only that, she will swear in whoever becomes the governor on May 29, 2023.

According to OYOINSIGHT, Yerima’s appointment is coming following last week’s retirement of Munta Ladipo Abimbola, the longest serving CJ of the state.

Born 8th September, 1958 in Ibadan. She attended started Omolewa Nursery and Primary School, Oritameta Ibadan between 1962 and 1969 after she proceeded to St Margaret’s Girls Secondary School, Ilesa between January between 1970 and July 1974. She also attended Ibadan Grammar School, Ibadan between 1974 and 1975. She was also at The Polytechnic Ibadan for Basic Studies (A LEVELS) between 1975 – 1977. She bagged her Bachelor of Arts in English and Philosophy from the University of Ife, Ile-Ife in 1981.

She proceeded to the University of Buckingham, U.K where she obtained her LL.B in 1984. She attended the Nigeria Law School, Lagos (B.L) between 1984 and 1985 and worked in the Chamber of Baba Amartey & Co (Barrister & Solicitors) between May 1986 – April 1987. She founded her own Chambers YERIMA & Co. (Barristers & Solicitors), F15, Kaduna Road, Zaria, Kaduna State in May 1987 where she was the Principal Counsel till April 2001 before her elevation to the Bench in Oyo State in June, 2001.
