A source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, on Monday said that the state government was fully aware of the invitation of the caretaker chairmen, adding that people failed to realise the fact the ICPC is not investigating the present administration but its predecessor’s tenure.
.
“We were invited by the ICPC regarding the ongoing investigation of the past administration. The petition was specifically about the excavators purchased by late Senator Abiola Ajimobi’s administration” he said.
Akintayo explained that the anti corruption agency wanted to clear the air whether the equipments are fairly used or brand new ones.
He added that “since they are the one presently ruining the affairs of the local government, the ICPC wanted us to come over and clear the air on the issue”.
Mr Akintayo said they after tendering necessary documentations, they were asked to go, saying they did not even spent up to three hours at the ICPC office.
